On 23 September 2026, France and Indonesia launched Rendez-Vous Rasa: France–Indonesia Gastronomy Week 2026, scheduled for 23 September to 4 October across Indonesia. The event brings together the Embassy of France in Indonesia, Institut français d’Indonésie, Alliance française, Business France, and Disciples Escoffier Indonesia.

🌏🎓 ASEAN Foundation bets on “Applied AI” to close the skills gap before 2028
On 11 September 2026, at the Open Session of the 21st ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education in Jakarta, the ASEAN Foundation secured backing for AI Ready ASEAN Powered by AI Opportunity Fund: Asia-Pacific. The second phase of its flagship AI literacy programme is now folded into a larger regional financing vehicle co-run with AVPN and backed by Google.org and the Asian Development Bank, running through the end of 2028.

♻️🌱 When the waste campaign ends: Building a local circular economy in Bintulu
At a Ramadan food bazaar in Bintulu in 2025, a simple idea took shape: separating food that might otherwise have been discarded into two streams. Edible surplus could be redistributed, while unavoidable food waste could be collected for composting or biogas. Thirty-four food-stall operators participated, and over the initiative, more than 500 kilograms of food were diverted from landfill — including over 300 kilograms of edible surplus redistributed to the community.
