The introduction of this route not only strengthens connectivity between Indonesia and Thailand but also opens up wider access to the international flight network via Bangkok as one of the region’s key hubs,” said Datuk Bernard Francis, Transnusa’s Group Chief Executive Officer.
🛫 Southeast Asia Airline Potential Markets
Asia Pacific is known as the busiest region for airlines, with 33.5% of the world's air passenger market and 12.1% of regional traffic growth by cabin class, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Furthermore, Airbus also forecasted that Southeast Asia would account for 20% of global traffic in 2040.
Recently, several Southeast Asian countries (Led by Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia, which account for the region’s largest share of growth) were among the top 50 countries by airline passenger numbers, and their growth potential would increase significantly in the future.
Especially Indonesia and Thailand, which are expected to be the most emerging markets in Asia Pacific and enter the Top 10 in 2042, according to Airports Council International.
